I want to congratulate you on your impending retirement in July. You will join many of us that had a second and even third act in our retirement; for people like us, retirement is not as fun as it looks. (Until about two years in, when you realize that huge backpack of bricks you carried 24/7 is now unloaded and gone.) I still have a blog, shoot out videos, and try to encourage as many people as I possibly can before departing this planet. I, for one, will be very sorry to see you go. I only pray the board can find a superintendent as capable as you.
Here is why I am sorry you are leaving:
- You have been a committed member of our community.
- You have held comments back that you could have let roll.
- I always had confidence in you to do what you thought best for our children and grandchildren.
- I admired the way you continued pushing for new school facilities, even though these were some taxing times: Pun intended. We almost made it!
- I appreciated the way you honored the Veterans. It meant a lot to me and to so many others.
- The quality of the administration, faculty, and staff is a testimony to your leadership.
For these reasons and more, thank you, Dr. Scruci. I wish you the best in the next act. Go Browns!
