- Though they appear confident, they often feel inadequate.
- They appreciate it when you let them know you will be absent for a time.
- Do something for them, and they will appreciate it: Do something for their children, and they will celebrate it.
- When a family drops out of the church with no warning and shuts off communication, it bothers them more than you know.
- The statement that only those close to you can hurt you does not apply to church members.
- Telling the pastor how great the church is doing across town on the way into the morning service is not encouraging.
- Please bury the statement: Lord, keep the pastor humble, and we will keep him poor. This dishonors God and the pastor.
- Don’t constantly tell the pastor how the previous pastors did things. He knows you have a favorite, but he is called here now. Give him room to grow in your heart.
- Don’t believe the stories of former members or former employees of the church. Take the question to the pastor and ask!
- The pastor often carries confidential information about a past member or employee that would exonerate him from their words. Still, he remains silent to preserve the sanctify/seal of his counsel.
Pray that our leaders will serve humbly as godly examples to all. 1 Peter 5:2-3
Pray that the church will labor and strive to present everyone mature in Christ. Colossians 1:28-29
Pray that more workers step up to serve faithfully. Matthew 9:37-38
